Preventative Procedures

At Risk of CVD Programme (Version 2, 17/02/10)

The following 2 searches have been amended:

  • Framingham 10 year risk score (3888, 388R) >= 15% OR Framingham CVD/QRISK (38DF, 38DR) >20% - amended line, 38DR now > 20% rather than >= 15% as in last version
  • Framingham 10 year risk score < 15% OR Framingham CVD/QRISK <=20% - amended text, 38DR in this search has to be <= 20% rather than <15% as in last version

The following 3 searches are new to the V2 audit:

  • CVD 10yr risk score =>20% (38DR,38DF) 662m, 662n OR CHD 10yr risk score =>15% (3888, 388R) recorded ever - High Risk Score
  • CVD 10yr risk score <20% (38DR, 38DF) 662k, 662l OR CHD 10yr risk score <15% (3888, 388R) - Low Risk Score (excluding pts with High Risk score)
  • Current smokers NOT refused referral and NOT referred and NOT attending smoking cessation

Statins searches are now based on patients who have a High Risk Score only (new search above):

  • Patients with a High Risk Score with an acute or repeat issue of statins after 01/01/2009
  • Patients with a High Risk Score taking simvastatin or pravastatin
  • Patients with a High Risk Score with an allergy or contraindication to statins
  • Patients with a High Risk Score not on statins and no allergy or contraindication

Read codes removed from audit:

  • Read codes 8Hk7. "Referred for health coaching" and 67A3. "Pregnancy smoking advice" have been removed from smoking referral search.

Read codes added to audit:

  • ADD 8IAM - declined referral to weight management service
  • ADD 8IAL - refer to health trainer declined
  • Change 9m43 to 9m4%
